Celebration on Eidsvolls plass, the Storting 15 May

The programme for the public event in Eidsvolls plass on 15 May focuses on the importance of the Norwegian Constitution, the fundamental values of the Constitution, the development of democracy over the past 200 years, Nordic fellowship and the voices of children and young people in our democracy.

President of the Storting Olemic Thommessen will host the event, and singer and actress Herborg Kråkevik will compère the event and also perform herself.

At 13:00, before the official programme starts at 13:30, the Norwegian Folk Art and Craft Association will display traditional costumes from every county in Norway, along with traditional Sami costumes, and traditional costumes from Palestine, Pakistan, Croatia and Kurdistan. The stage will be filled with almost 200 women and men of all ages in their finery.
