Morten Høglund MP new SCPAR Chair
At a meeting of the Standing Committee of Parliamentarians of the Arctic Region (SCPAR) in Ottawa on 16 November, Mr Høglund was unanimously elected Chair of the Committee.

Mr Høglund will take over his new position from the Finnish MP, Mr Hannes Manninen, on 22 February 2011.
The Arctic is a region with vast natural resources, and is attracting increased international attention. One of the primary tasks as Chair of the SCPAR is to strengthen Arctic cooperation in times of great change in the region.
